
Five days of Xi'an's deepest history plus a day trip to Hua Mountain. Day two covers the City Wall, Bell Tower, Shanxi History Museum, Daci'en Temple, Muslim Quarter and Datang Evernight City. Day three visits the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and the Terracotta Warriors with a DIY session. Day four is a scenic full-day excursion to Hua Mountain — one of China's Five Sacred Mountains — by cable car.

* Arrival in Xi'an

@ Breakfast. Xi'an City Wall — the most complete ancient city wall in China, built in the 14th century. Optional: cycling along the 14 km wall top.



~ Afternoon
@ Xi'an city tour: Bell Tower — the central landmark of ancient Xi'an, marking the exact centre of the Tang-dynasty city. Shanxi History Museum — one of China's finest regional museums covering 1.5 million years of Shaanxi history. Daci'en Temple (Great Ci'en Temple) — a Tang-dynasty Buddhist complex housing the iconic Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square (outside view). Optional: Huajue Mosque — one of China's oldest mosques, built in Tang-dynasty Chinese architectural style.


~ Night
@ Huimin Street (Muslim Quarter) — a 500-metre-long pedestrian food street with lamb skewers, roujiamo and hand-pulled noodles.

* Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor · Terracotta Warriors · DIY Terra-Cotta Warriors
~ Morning
@ Breakfast. The Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin (Lishanyuan) — the burial complex of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, covering 56 square kilometres of protected land.

~ Afternoon
@ Terracotta Warriors Museum — over 8,000 individually sculpted figures across three excavation pits. DIY Terra-Cotta Warrior painting session.


~ Night
@ Dinner at a recommended restaurant. Drop off to hotel.

* Hua Mountain
~ Daytime
@ Breakfast. Pick up from hotel. 2-hour drive to Hua Mountain (Huashan) — one of China's Five Sacred Mountains, with near-vertical granite peaks rising to 2,154 m. Cable car up and down.

@ Drive back to hotel in Xi'an.
