“Small group” does not change the structure. Twelve to eighteen people still share the day. The palace does not become private because the brochure used a smaller number.
A company offsite is different. If you bring your own colleagues, that is still private ground for one client. That is not what this page is about.
Red Flags in the Contract, Not the Cover Photo
- Shopping stops, a mandatory tea tasting, or “optional” add-ons priced on the bus.
- A guide whose income depends on the shop, or a driver doubling as the only explainer.
- “Tickets included” with no timed entry, or commentary not in the language you need.
- Fixed departure dates that force you to move international flights rather than the land plan.
- A luxury adjective on a coach that still mixes families — check luxury China tours before you pay for the word.
Those clauses are why a group day cannot slip for an elder, a delayed train, or a child who needs to eat now. The brochure will not say that. The operations annex will.
What You Probably Wanted When You Typed “Group”
Most high-intent searches want a vehicle that stays with their people, a guide who does not take a vote, and the ability to move a Terracotta morning when a ticket slot fails. That is a private China tour or a tailor-made China tour, not a seat on a public departure.
