This Ticket Is Songbei, Not Sun Island

- Sun Island . A separate park across the river, known for daytime snow sculptures and the annual snow sculpture expo. Different ticket, different time of day, different venue.
- Zhaolin Park . An older, smaller ice-lantern display inside the city, dating back decades. Different ticket again, smaller scale, walking distance from central Harbin.
If a tour brochure offers "the Harbin Ice Festival ticket," ask which of the three it covers. Most cover the Songbei park; some add Sun Island as a daytime add-on; a few skip Ice and Snow World entirely and run Zhaolin Park as a substitute.
Buy From the Park, Not the Arrivals Hall
Three rules on how to buy the ticket:
- Buy from the park's own channels. The Ice and Snow World runs an official site (ice.hrbicesnow.com, with the domain shifting between seasons), an official WeChat public account, and on-site ticket windows. These are the three sources where the current price and the current open dates show up first.
- Do not buy at the airport arrivals hall. Counterfeit or marked-up tickets at Harbin Taiping International Airport are a known red flag. If someone offers you a "VIP ticket" or a "skip-the-line" deal at arrivals, walk past.
- Do not pay an OTA a premium. Resellers sometimes list the ticket at two to three times the official price. The official channels are the cheapest.
The 27th edition of Ice and Snow World closed in late February 2026. The 28th edition opens in late December 2026, weather permitting. The exact opening date and the ticket tiers are posted on the park's channels for the current season.
What the Five-Night Line Looks Like
For travelers who want Ice and Snow World in a private day shape rather than as a one-day ticket stop, the five-night Harbin line puts the park on a single evening block after the first night's rest. The rest of the line covers Yabuli, Snow Village, and the city's daylight hours without trying to cram the rest into a single day. This is the realistic pace in winter Harbin.
If you want the daytime Sun Island snow sculpture park as well, that adds a separate ticket and a separate day block. If you want to ski Yabuli or stay overnight in Snow Village, those are different products on top of the base line.
