Xi'an 5 Days 4 Nights Tour: Add Mount Hua, Keep the 4-Day Cut

Xi'an 5 Days 4 Nights Tour: Add Mount Hua, Keep the 4-Day Cut

Five days in Xi'an is not a longer version of four days. It is the four-day structure with one extra full day added. The most useful extra day is Mount Hua via the West Peak cable car. A night trek is a different product, written for a different crowd, and this page is not it.

This page is for private ground. We do not run fixed departures. Add-on choices below assume your party only.

Five Days in Xi'an: One Mountain Day, Not More City Sprints

The four-day structure (Warriors + City Wall + Shaanxi History Museum + buffer) already fills four nights. The fifth day goes to Mount Hua via the West Peak cable car. Two side questions this answers up front:

  • West or North Peak cable car? West Peak for scenery and a single-day return. North Peak for the historic hiking-route feel — slower, longer.
  • Night trek? Not on this itinerary. Safety, pacing for older travelers and children, and shooting conditions all suffer on the overnight routes.

For full Warriors and City Wall detail, see the Xi'an four-night page. Days 1–3 below are a recap of that structure, not a replacement.

Days 1–3 — The Four-Day Template, Unchanged

__wf_reserved_inherit
Pit 1 of Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi'an
__wf_reserved_inherit
Xi'an City Wall

Day 1 is the Terracotta Warriors full day — Pit 1, Pit 3, the bronze chariot exhibit, and the Emperor Qinshihuang mausoleum mound. The Lintong drive is the reason this needs its own day, not a morning.

Day 2 is the City Wall ride (south gate to north gate, ~90 minutes by bicycle), the Beilin Museum, and the Muslim Quarter meal. Yongxingfang can be added after the wall if energy holds. The Shaanxi History Museum is moved to Day 3 — three half-day venues do not fit into one afternoon.

Day 3 is the Shaanxi History Museum (timed entry, two to three hours including queue) and the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda + Da Ci'en Temple complex. This day is flexible — it can be swapped for a Han Yang Ling mausoleum day trip on the four-night version; on the five-night version it stays as written and the mountain day is added.

Day 4 — Mount Hua by West Peak Cable Car

The Xi'an to Mount Hua transfer is 30 minutes by high-speed rail from Xi'an North Station to Huashan North Station, then a short shuttle to the visitor center. With a private driver, the door-to-door time runs about 90 minutes each way.

The West Peak cable car takes about 20 minutes to the upper terminal. From the West Peak summit, the route runs along the ridge to the South Peak (the highest point), then crosses via the鹞子翻身 (Kite Turn) section back toward the East Peak cable car. Total time on the mountain: 3 to 4 hours including cable car waits.

The full hike between peaks and the plank path (长空栈道) are out of scope for this product. The plank path is a queue-restricted add-on, not a default day-trip. Trail-running versions of Mount Hua are written for a different client — do not staple a guide who does outdoor lead experience onto a sightseeing day.

Return cable car runs from the East Peak back down to the visitor center. Late afternoon return to Xi'an is realistic. Dinner back in the city by 8 p.m. is comfortable.

Day 5 — Departure Buffer or Urban Half-Day

Day 5 is the airport buffer for most travelers. Xi'an Xianyang International Airport sits 45 minutes west of the city. During the morning rush window (07:00–09:00), the drive extends to 75 minutes. Plan accordingly.

If the flight is later in the day, there is room for one short urban addition. The Yongxingfang alley (Tang-style food, sugar painting, shadow puppetry demonstrations) sits inside the wall and runs 60 to 90 minutes. The Datang Everbright City (south of Da Ci'en Temple, evening lighting) is a 90-minute evening walk. Neither is a full-day plan — both fit the gap between checkout and airport transfer.

What Five Days Will Not Hold

Five nights does not unlock everything around Xi'an. The following are out of scope for this product:

  • Famen Temple — half-day plus 1.5 hours each-way transfer; eats a full day
  • Qianling Mausoleum — same logic; consider a six-night or seven-night cut
  • Hiking versions of Mount Hua — full multi-day or overnight trek products; this page assumes the West Peak cable car day trip

Xi'an Private Ground and Booking

For private trips we operate, Mount Hua cable car tickets, the high-speed rail seats between Xi'an and Huashan, and museum timed-entry are coordinated by TravelToQin before the departure date. The cable car operator enforces its own boarding rules and weather closures — we handle the planning around those, not the mountain conditions.

If the shape above fits, send your arrival date, party size, and a one-line answer on whether any traveler has a mobility or fitness concern through contact. The first reply confirms the five-night cut is right, or points to the four-night or six-night shape if it fits better.

Day trip from Guangzhou

We were picked up in a private van for a day trip outside of Guangzhou. We visited the Jurassic Park the waterfalls rafting Mario kart the drive approximately 1 1/2 hours from our hotel. It was very comfortable ride when we first arrived. It was raining, but we were getting wet with some of the experiences that we went on anyway so we didn't matter Stella. Our guide was wonderful and we had such a fun day with her. Some great photo locations in some experiences that I would never have had in Australia. When we arrived at 12 pm, the crowds were very low but as we were leaving around 3 pm it was extremely busy. Lots of tourist buses had arrived. Overall it was a wonderful day. This trip would be best for families, but also adults looking for a thrill. Please be mindful there are a lot of stairs and walking and we did come across a few older people who had difficulty with the stairs.

TraveltoQin Made Our Dream China Holiday Absolutely Perfect! 5 stars and more from start to finish

From the very first moment we contacted TraveltoQin through Instagram, right up until we boarded our flight back home, our entire trip was absolutely seamless. Richard was incredible in organising our itinerary and patiently answering every single question we had in the lead-up to our holiday. Everything was so well thought out and tailored perfectly to our family. Throughout the trip, every driver we had was kind, polite, and professional, and the guides were truly some of the best we’ve ever experienced. A special mention has to go to Yan—she was absolutely fantastic. To say she went above and beyond would be an understatement. Not only was she an amazing guide, but she also helped plan our free time and told us exactly what to do on days we didn’t opt for a guide, ensuring we made the most of every moment. The hotels selected for us ticked all our boxes. I had casually mentioned at one point that my boys love to swim and that we’d prefer hotels with pools. Ivy, who was available 24/7 throughout the trip to answer every question and help with anything we needed, took this on board immediately. She even went as far as checking whether the pools at our booked hotels were actually operational. When she found out that the last hotel in Shenzhen had maintenance on its pool, she proactively offered me not one, but two alternative hotel options—both of which were massive upgrades from what we had originally booked, at absolutely no extra cost. I was genuinely overwhelmed by their kindness, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail. Nothing was ever too much trouble. It was such a pleasure meeting Kevin and Ivy on our last day. One thing that really stood out to me is that this is the first company I’ve ever dealt with that didn’t pressure or push me to leave a review. That alone speaks volumes—they clearly do what they do because they genuinely love their job and care deeply about their clients’ experience. If you’re planning a holiday in China, save yourself the time and go straight to TraveltoQin. I honestly doubt anyone could outdo them in terms of service, attention to detail, and pricing. Just trust them—you’ll be in the very best hands.

Exceptional Tour with Stella!

Stella was an excellent guide and made our trip truly enjoyable. She was punctual and was already waiting for us at our hotel at 10:00 a.m. She provided clear instructions before each stop and thoughtfully prepared raincoats for us. We first visited the main building and then began our hike up the mountain, where we enjoyed the breathtaking scenery and took many wonderful photos. We also had a great time riding the summer toboggan and racing the cars. Stella’s professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made the entire experience memorable. We highly recommend her and would gladly join another tour with her in the future.

Fantastic Goulong Gorge Experience with Tony Walker

Our family had an absolutely wonderful day trip to Goulong Gorge during our visit to Guangzhou, and a big part of that was thanks to Travel to Qin and our outstanding guide, Tony Walker. From start to finish, Tony was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. He made everything easy and stress-free, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the experience. His enthusiasm, attention to detail, and genuine care for his guests really stood out. Goulong Gorge itself was spectacular, with beautiful scenery, exciting attractions, and unforgettable views. Tony ensured we got the most out of our visit, helping us navigate the attractions, sharing interesting information along the way, and making sure everyone in our family was comfortable and having a great time. If you’re visiting Guangzhou and considering a trip to Goulong Gorge, I highly recommend Travel to Qin and especially Tony Walker as your guide. He did a fantastic job and helped make one of the highlights of our China trip. Thank you, Tony, for a memorable day!

The local guide Anita accompanied us throughout the trip and looked after us carefully and friendly. She took photos for us at every iconic scenic spot, gave us a through introduction about the scenery ,reminded us the key attention step by step all the way . My son who is under 1.4 meters, he couldn’t drive the mariot cart so she replaced me to handle him,so that I could enjoy the racing cars without anxiety . Exceptional customer care by Team Travel to Qin! (solo female traveller)

I was a solo female traveller. From planning the trip to being taken care of, I fully recommend the team TRAVEL TO QIN. The full time butler service by Ivy , to the tour guide Fish, to the driver Annie.. they provided me with exceptional care and service. Fish was so kind to even be my personal photographer and videographer :) They were so kitti make my birthday also special which was totally not in the plan and surprise to me! They were also on time every day to start the day from picking me up to dropping me off at the station. The unexpected rainy conditions and public holiday perhaps needed a little more guidance for me to prepare in advance. Overall, I'd recommend this team. They are flexible on the plan, willing to accommodate your needs during plan phase, extremely professional and very good customer care. Will surely choose them and Fish next time !!!! Signing off for now.. happy customer

11 days China Holiday July 2026

Right from the planning phase to the execution, Kevin and his company Travel To Quin had been exceptional. We contacted them in Feb for our holiday in July and they meticulously understood our needs and then designed the itinerary accordingly. At China we were greated with a large bouquet of flowers by an english speaking travel guide and a car with driver was available for us everyday. The four star hotels booked were good. The Hilton in Guangzhou was the best. Ivy was nearly available 24/7 during our China stay solving our problems, giving advice, arranging and rearranging bookings etc. The tour guides for our trip were excellent, especially Keena at Shanghai stood out due to her exceptional kindness. During the whole 11 days of our holiday, the company accomodated all our needs and was transparent in their price policies. The company never made us feel that we were in an unknown country, especially Ivy was like an invisible guardian angle for our group, available 24/7 with problem solutions and options. We were a group of 7 consisting of 2 separate families, hence we have different needs, but the company was excellent in catering to the individual requirements of 7 guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our 11 days holiday, where we visiting Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Schenzen. We will definitely recommend Travel to Quin to others for their China travel partner and will use them in our next trip to China as well.
