Terracotta Warriors tickets are a booking problem before they are a sightseeing problem. The on-site window is not a reliable backup. Foreign visitors need a real-name reservation, a matching passport, and a clear idea of what the combined ticket covers that season.

The museum publishes a combined ticket that typically covers the warrior pits and the Lishan Garden area that now shows the bronze chariots. Exact inclusions, add-ons, and the RMB figure change. Treat any number you saw in a title or a blog—including an older ¥120 line—as a clue to check, not as this year’s price. Official source: the museum’s current English or booking page (bmy.com.cn is the usual domain; confirm before you pay).

• Usually in the combined ticket — the excavation pits open that day, plus the garden/chariot area the museum lists with that ticket.
• Often separate or timed — special exhibitions, audio devices, or a DIY figurine desk if you add them.
• Not a skip-the-rules pass — real-name entry, passport match, and the time slot still apply.

How foreign visitors book

• Official booking — museum site or the official WeChat pathway the museum names that season.
• Passport — the name on the reservation must match the passport you show at the gate.
• How far ahead — peak weeks (statutory holidays, summer) need more lead time. A same-week walk-up is the usual disappointment.
• Time slot — arrive in the window you booked. The pits are a morning job on a standard Xi’an 4-day private line; the afternoon is not a second hard museum if legs are gone.
